Congo is a beautiful nation filled with incredible forests, waterfalls and wonder. The Congolese are strong, resilient and proud people. Despite difficulties, they are a joyous population.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Most of the Congolese population is under the age of 15!<\/span><\/p>\n Eastern Congo is rich with precious minerals of gold, diamonds and other precious minerals. Sadly, this has encouraged many private companies and militias to cross the border to Eastern Congo to capture and sell the minerals around the world.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Many children have been kidnapped to work in rivers and mines. Some of them are forced to join child armies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n More than 500,000 people live in refugee camps. Many are still there from the Rwandan genocide in 1994!
